Giger’s art is characterized by its fusion of human and machine, creating haunting, otherworldly images. His use of airbrush techniques allowed for smooth transitions between forms, enhancing the surreal quality of his work. Giger described his style as „biomechanical,“ a term that encapsulates his exploration of the relationship between the organic and the synthetic. His work often delves into themes of birth, death, and sexuality, presented in a dreamlike, often nightmarish context. Giger’s influence is evident in the aesthetic of numerous science fiction and horror films, as well as in the broader realm of fantasy art.
